File guidelines

Print-ready files go to press faster. Not sure about yours? Upload it anyway: we check every file and send a free proof before printing.

Formats

PDF (best), AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF, JPG, PNG or SVG, up to 2 GB per file. Big uploads resume automatically if your connection drops.

Bleed and safe area

Add 0.125″ (1/8 inch) bleed on every side for anything that prints to the edge.
Keep text and logos at least 0.125″ inside the trim line.
Example: a 3.5″ × 2″ business card file is 3.75″ × 2.25″ with bleed.

Resolution

Photos and raster images should be 300 dpi at the printed size (large-format signs and banners: 100–150 dpi at full size). Vector logos (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) stay sharp at any size.

Color and fonts

Design in CMYK when you can. We convert RGB files, but bright screen colors can look different in print.
Convert fonts to outlines or embed them in your PDF.
